THE DON HELMS STORY

SETTIN' THE WOODS ON FIRE

The full story is here at last. Dons experience, as one of the original Drifting Cowboys who came to Nashville with Hank Williams, was just the beginning of Dons influence in and on the music business. His new book gives us the story of Hank Williams and many after Hank passed away in 1953. Included are the experiences with Ray Price, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Ernest Tubb, Ferlin Huskey, The Wilburn Brothers, Jim Reeves, Chet Atkins, and so many others. In the past many writers have interviewed Don Helms concerning  Hank Williams and other famous people. He has appeared on A&E biography more than once and has been quoted (and perhaps sometimes mis-quoted) by the many writers who have related the history of these lives and this business. Now Don tells you the whole story himself.

The BEST way to get this book was from Don in person. You still have some of that opportunity because his lovely wife, Hazel, joins friends at steel guitar shows to meet people and this book can be purchased directly from them. Don was quick to make friends and Hazel is the same warm person. Look for Dons book at Steel Guitar conventions, commemorative shows, and NTSGA shows (ntsga.com).
